SXSW 2024 was a blast! Here is a photo journal of our highlights from the week. 🎵 queue Beyonce’s Texas Hold ‘Em…. 🎵
The inaugural Future Food Tech House for funders & founders at SXSW was a huge hit. ✨ The mission? Connect founders and funders who are solving big food system problems to catalyze connections & accelerate positive impact. The outcome? ✨700 registrants ✨ Dozens of founder/funder matches ✨ 20 speakers ✨ 4 panels ✨ Loads of fun. The panels covered topics ranging from AI and the Food System to corporate innovation, the investment landscape, and cultural trends impacting the future of food.
A huge thank you to all of the speakers, sponsors and in-kind partners of the event: Ajinomoto, General Mills/301 Inc., Foodbytes, JP Morgan, All-Places, 43 North, IFT, Nature’s Fynd, Agua Bonita, Kadeya, Siete Foods, Crafty Counter and Super Coffee.
Noramay judged the SXSW pitch competition for Food, Nutrition, and Health. She was joined by fellow judges Johnson & Johnson, VMG, Recode Health Ventures, and Nextmed Health & Continuum Health Ventures. Congratulations to the winner STM Patch!
In cahoots with All-Places, we co-hosted a brunch for female GPs. We shared deals, fundraising strategies, and firm-building tips. You know this is a dedicated crew when the breakfast started at 8:30 am on a Sunday, daylight savings time to boot. It was a treat to be together.
This year ESPN sponsored a women’s poker event led by the amazing organization Poker Power. With a mission of Empowering women, one hand at a time, investors and founders sat side by side to play some Texas Hold ‘Em and learn negotiation and life skills. Shout out to Martina Welkhoff for organizing the event, and to Jenny Just for her incredible vision in founding the organization with a goal of teaching 1 million women how to play life differently.
And the most important outcome of SXSW - our team got some amazing bonding time! Pictured here: Noramay, Shayna, Rachel, Minami and Isabelle. See you next year, SXSW.
I loved the funders & founders, both together as finders :)
